Astrological Awareness ___________________________ A progression is like an accurate psychic reading. With the help of computers, progressing an individual or combination horoscope into the future (or the past) is an easy, effective way to read the astrological influences present at that moment in time. By Karen Bell. ___________________________ Would you like to read an astrological progression to an important date in your future to see how the planets in your horoscope will be affecting that moment in time? To illustrate how this works, Tara Sutphen volunteered her progression back to the day she met Richard. To do this, she combined their individual astrological data in a Lovers Report and progressed it back to the planetary placements on February 19, 1983. The actual report is ten pages long, but the following excerpts are typical of the entire chart at that time.
From The Section Tara's Venus Conjunct Richard's Jupiter: You enjoy each other's company immensely and you put each other in a happy mood. You make each other laugh and you feel very open, loose, and jovial around each other. You will also include others in your lives, expand your circle of friends, and allow one another a good deal of freedom, rather than being exclusive or possessive about one another. There is a great deal of generosity between you, and you may benefit one another financially and materially as well as emotionally. A wonderful friendship! Tara's Venus Opposition Richard's Pluto: Sexual attraction to each other, at times, is extremely intense. These sexual feelings tend to be irresistible or obsessive, and difficult to control or even comprehend. Tara, especially, feels magnetically attracted or mesmerized by Richard. Powerful subconscious emotional drives come into play, and you may become exceedingly attached to one another, as well as very jealous and manipulative at times. "They're on the verge of divorce," she said, "and their conflicts are accurately reflected in their present-day progressed lovers chart. But when I progressed the chart forward to the year 2000, they're getting along well. If they can remain together for another seven years, their relationship will be good." "So the chart reflects the couple's karma?" I said. "Yes," Tara replied, "progressing a horoscope forward five years at a time clearly illuminates conflicts, financial snags, sexual problems, whatever. It's what these two people came together to experience. Their karma." "I don't quite understand how it works," I said. "When you progressed your combined chart back to the day you and Richard met, you read the exact position of the influencing planets on that day, right?" Tara nodded. "What if it had been a few months later?" "There would be changes within the chart, reflecting our individual astrology and how fast or slow our aspects were moving." "So you might have had a little better or a little worse chart if the timing or your meeting had been different?" "Yes. If the timing of our initial meeting had been years earlier, our relationship might have started out quite differently. But today it would still be what it is." "Not being an astrologer, it's difficult to follow," I admitted. "I progressed the chart of a friend back to the month in 1979 when she got divorced and left the country to work in Europe for several years," Tara said. "When she read it, she said, 'No wonder I made the decisions I did. Look at the influences I was under at that time. It was fate wasn't it?' I had to agree with her." Tara continued, "My progressions clearly show that in the last year, my personal studies would explode as a career. Four of my angles changed at the same time, thrusting me out of the learning stage of life and into the teaching stage." With this in mind, I decided to have Tara run a lover's progression with my boyfriend, a friendship progression with my best friend, and an individual progression to check on my career.
