Questions and answers about publishing Soaring Spirit, and 1) programs to support self-healing, 2) worrying about Y2K and the end times, and 3) seeking new levels of intimacy. By Dick Sutphen. I’m going to open this column by answering a couple questions that have come in from more that one person. Aren’t you going to continue to publish Soaring Spirit? You have a new copy in your hand, so the answer is YES. But we can only afford to mail all issues to current buyers. The last issue was actually a complete Valley of the Sun catalog and was mailed in June to everyone who purchased within the last 12 months. The Website, however, is rapidly taking over as our primary communications tool and order resource. Two of my favorite newsletter publications have recently sent me notifications saying from now on they will only be available on the Web. But I love to publish a magalog you can hold in your hand and peruse in your most comfortable chair. So as long as it is feasible, we’ll continue to publish Soaring Spirit. We’re also experimenting with a newsletter publication we may mail between issues. Why hasn’t Tara updated her “Personal Notebook” on the Web since May? We left for the UK in mid-May, where we worked in London at the Body Mind Spirit Festival the rest of the month. June and July were spent in Scotland and I reported our activities every day in my “Road Diary” at the site. Anything Tara would have reported would have been redundant. By the time you’re reading this in publication, Tara’s September “Personal Notebook” will be posted on the Web with new photos. And thanks for reading the online column. Q. How do I heal myself? “I’d like to heal myself of my various ailments which include several headaches a week. I’m seeing a regular doctor and an acupuncturist. What tapes can I use to support this process. I’m trying to be disciplined and am willing to do everything I can. Paul Shields Houston TX A. Not knowing exactly what you’re dealing with, I’ll include a complete list of titles you may want to consider. First of all, strengthening your immune system is basic to all heath concerns. But at the same time, let’s say you have a lot of indigestion, which is caused by a candida condition, which in turn has caused “leaky gut” (over half the population has candida according to some sources). The leakage from your intestines is poisoning your blood and weakening your immune system. Mind-programming won’t be enough to override the physical condition, but it can certainly support a change in diet and an intestinal-cleansing program to kill off the candida. RX116 -- Radiant Health & A Strong Immune System. To deal with your headache pain, I’d suggest you use my new Professional Hypnosis Block Pain CD. It includes a classic “glove anesthesia” technique that is very effective. If you’re experiencing stress, this mental condition will always work against your physical well being: RX157 -- Stress Control (audio hypnosis programming), or use Video Hypnosis VHS107 -- Unstress. You can use one or the other. Also see my new Professional Hypnosis titles that specifically focus upon career stress and relationship stress. I’d suggest you use a daily general healing audio or video program: VHS112 Healing Acceleration or RX117 -- Healing Force -- Using Your Mind To Help Heal (listen to the subliminal side while doing other things and even as sleep programming). A powerful addition would be Sleep Programming -- 1108 -- Get Well. For support programming you can use Only Subliminals -- T207 -- Health & Healing. Most important, use the programs regularly and don’t give up. Sadly, many people tend to lose their dedication to a goal, often just when they’re getting close to attaining positive results. This in itself may be a form of self-sabotage. But remember, wisdom erases karma and the root meaning of the word karma is “action.” You can free yourself by acting -- by doing what you need to do to resolve your problem. You can regain your health. Keep at it. Q. Worried about Y2K “I ordered your RX17 tape, Incredible Self-Confidence because I have become so fearful of the coming of the millennium and the possible end of the world. The Y2K factor is also causing me a loss of sleep. Can you offer me some hope for the future?” T.C. Brubaker Salt Lake City, UT A. The current calendar is based on the Christian calculations from the time of the birth of Christ. This alone causes me to question the importance of the exact date having a specific meaning. To the Jews the year is 5760. On the other hand, I think we have reason to be concerned about Y2K. Be prepared to be self-sufficient for a few weeks, longer if you can. But that’s good advice in any situation. According to a widely publicized Nostradamas prediction, a comet hurtling toward earth was supposed to be discovered in August. Shortly thereafter it was to land in the Atlantic and wipe out a lot of Europe. While we were in Scotland, the papers were filled with the Nostradamas prediction that the world would end on July 4th. In response, all the local pubs offered “end of the world parties.” Maybe this is the best way to anticipate such predictions. Q. New levels of intimacy “My wife of five years is complaining that I don’t talk to her enough. Do you have any suggestions, tapes, etc. that could help me reach a new level of intimacy? I would like us to be able to like, love and be turned on by each other again. I’m asking after reading your “Road Diary” on the Web. You seem to have such a warm relationship with Tara. I may be jumping into personal territory but would appreciate any help with the basics.” Name withheld on request Ventura, CA A. I asked Tara to answer this one for me, then I’ll add my thoughts. “Honesty. Having fun together. It doesn’t take money to make another happy. You can listen to each other, tell jokes, lovenotes, pick a flower, give each other foot rubs while you watch TV, take time to cuddle, et cetera. Men all want to procreate the world but women need to feel sexy and cherished.” My response: When a relationship isn’t working, control on some level is a factor. Explore this issue is regard to your relationship. The four primary relationship killers are criticism, contempt, being defensive, and withdrawal. All are attempts to control. A strong relationship is one in which two people 1) express love and compassion, 2) grant each other freedom, 3) have few expectations of each other, and 4) express unconditional love, which is a matter of accepting your partner as they are, without blame, judgment, expectations, or trying to change them to be what you want them to be. Then if all else fails, just do what you’re told. A major research study showed that the happiest marriages were those in which the male basically goes along with the female. Yikes! Tape suggestions: Video Hypnosis VHS105 Master of Life Personality Transformation would be my first suggestion. VHS119 -- Positive Thinking would be another consideration. Plus the suggestions on RX134 -- Charisma -- Drawing People To You will support relationship improvement. RX154 -- Rising Above Negativity would also serve you. Listen to the RX ‘B’ sides -- Subliminal Programming hidden in soothing music, as support programming while doing other things and even as sleep programming.
