Dick Sutphen Editorial

Over the holidays, at one of our family gatherings, my daughter Jessi, passed a small sheet of paper to her brother Steven and said, “I always carry it.”

Dick Sutphen

“What do you always carry?” I asked.

“I usually carry it too, but I wanted to share it with Megahn,” Steven said, passing the paper over to me.

It read:

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. You playing small doesn’t serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. You were born to manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

-- Nelson Mandela

(Since the magalog was released, we were contacted by Krista Jarrard of Costa Mesa, CA, who said, “This is by Marianne Williamson, not Nelson Mandela.” I don’t know how this originally got started.)

Obviously, I liked the words so much, I’m sharing them with you. Please share them with others.

Valley of the Sun: In this issue of Soaring Spirit we are introducing more new products than we’ve ever released at one time. My new book, With Your Spirit Guide’s Help is now in print. And I’ve created 12 new Spirit Guide’s Help audio tapes that invoke unseen assistance to help you create your own reality.

Red Ball on Blue Water (imagine the sun setting into the sea), is a new publishing division of Sutphen Seminars and will publish CDs produced in our Agoura Hills, CA facility. The first 10 titles are included in this issue: 74-Minute Courses, special hypnotic music and newly-recorded “Archive Releases.” This division is also available to create custom audio projects for other companies.

In response to changing trends in seminar attendance, we’ve altered the 1999 schedule. Instead of going on the road, we will offer more seminar programs as CDs. Tara and I will, however, continue to offer the Sedona Seminars, Professional Hypnotist Training, and limited-attendance retreats in Lake Arrowhead, CA. Plus we’re scheduled to offer more workshops in London than in prior years.

If you’re on the Internet, please drop by our Websites: www.sutphenpublishing.com is the Valley of the Sun catalog and also offers articles about why the tapes/CDs work so effectively. This site is our personal site, which offers lots of unique information: articles, “Personal Notebook,” six years of Abenda columns, Red Ball on Blue Water releases and much more. If you click on “Articles,” there is a secret doorway to a third Website called, “ Stories.” Here you’ll find many of my full-length stories or book chapters that can be read or downloaded. If you like the excerpts from my new book in this issue, go to the “Stories” site and read the first chapter. Better yet, just order the book and we’ll ship it immediately. It may be a couple months before it’s in most metaphysical stores.

Happy New Year and “live large” in 1999 as an Australian friend of ours likes to say. Relating back to the Nelson Mandela quote, play large and be the brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous person you really are.
