Stepping Outside Time By Dick Sutphen Following an altered-state-of-consciousness session in which we telepathically project three drawn symbols to the Sedona Psychic Seminar participants, I ask, “How many of you telepathically received one or more of the symbols?” Ninety percent or more of the participants raise their hands. Then I ask, “How many of you telepathically received these impressions before I began sending them?” On average, ten to fifteen percent of the hands in the room go up. A few people usually explain that they “thought” of them even before I induced the altered state. Often, I don’t know what symbols we’re going to send until I begin the session. The symbols are drawn in black on 8 1/2” x 11” white paper. I keep dozens of them in my seminar notebook and during one of the pauses, I’ll pull three from the envelope at the last minute. So how could the participants know ahead of time what I did not yet know myself? Upon first encountering this phenomenon, I did some research on the subject. In the 1920s, a Russian psychic researcher named L. L. Vasiliev was encountering a similar result. Vasiliev was a professor of physiology at the University of Leningrad. He was conducting psychic sender and receiver research, with the senders isolated in various shielded chambers. The receivers were often as distant as 1,200 miles away. Vasiliev claimed to be researching wavelengths of the electro-magnetic radiation that produced “mental radio” -- the transmission of information from one mind to another. He quickly learned that no electromagnetic shielding could prevent telepathy from taking place. Of special interest to me, Vasiliev noted startling incidents in which “reception” took place before “transmission.” He claimed nothing known could account for a telepathic receiver receiving communications before they were sent. He tried to relate the phenomena to an energetic or electromagnetic process, but his arguments were not convincing. Fast forward to the present: In the book, “Miracles of Mind” (New World Library, 1998) by Russell Targ and Jane Katra, the authors tell a related story from a different perspective. Targ, remember, is one of the scientists who introduced “remote viewing” to the world as a result of the Stanford Research Institute’s research work. This work inspired the CIA’s psychic-spying units. In an experiment, the “outbound” sender traveled to a location across town. At the appointed time, Targ perceived the image of a particular building and noted a bicycle sitting in front of the structure. When the two men compared notes on the phone, the sender agreed that Targ’s perceptions were correct on the details of the building, but there was no bicycle in front. Targ went to the sending site to see the building for himself. As he and the sender stood talking about the partial accuracy of the experiment, a delivery man rode up on a bicycle, parked it just as Targ had described, and entered the building. It seems to me, the seminar participants receiving the symbols before they are sent, and Targ’s remote viewing, can be explained by the receivers stepping outside of time. This is what a clairvoyant does. And even Russell Targ now uses the words clairvoyance and remote viewing interchangeably. I’ve always contended there was no difference between the two. Clairvoyance also explains any accurate psychic prediction or a prophetic dream. __________________________ NOTE: In the Sedona Psychic Seminar we’ll explore telepathy, remote viewing and psychometry, in addition to many other PSI techniques. Three top psychics will be on hand to interact with participants and provide private readings (additional fee). Dick will be available to do private past-life regression or counseling sessions on Monday and Tuesday following the seminar (additional fee). Join us to see how psychic you can be in the vortex energy environment. __________________________ Auditory PSI (retrocognitive clairaudience) Both the above PSI situations involved “visual” sensing. In his book, Targ shares an interesting example of “auditory” PSI perception. As a member of a psychic research group that meets regularly, the author explains how Dr. Dean Brown brought up the subject of memory -- the idea of quickly scanning our memory banks to see whether or not we’ve heard a word before. “For example,” he said, “Who knows what ‘churk’ means?” Five members of the group held up their hands. Dr. Brown protested, saying, “How could you know what it means? I just made up the word!” “The surprising explanation was that five of us (not including Dr. Brown) had just eaten dinner at a Cuban restaurant. The waitress had told us that the specialty of the house was catfish with ‘churk’ sauce, which some of us had ordered. The only plausible place that our host could have accessed that word was from the minds of the five of us who had just experienced it for the first time, half an hour before.” Targ goes on to explain that he later discovered there is no such thing as “churk” sauce. The waitress was from El Salvador and did not speak English well. The sauce was actually “jerk” sauce. Psychometry (psychometric telepathy) Psychometry is a matter of holding an object, such as a ring, opening psychically and reading the object’s vibrations to know about the owner. You perceive through your sympathetic nervous system and your brain amplifies and interprets the signals into information you can understand. These perceptions can be perceived as literal or symbolic visual images, auditory messages, feelings, or simply an “inner knowing.” Metal objects are most easily read -- especially precious metals that have been involved in the same role repeatedly. Objects involved in an emotional trauma are also more easily read. Psychics are of most help to the police when they can read such an object, because the event impregnated the atoms with memories. Psychometry supposedly isn’t a technique to read the future, because the vibrations have not yet been impregnated into the object. But this is not my personal experience with the technique, nor is it the experience of most of the psychic seminar participants. I believe that the object in your hand becomes a psychic touchstone and your perceptions move from telepathy to clairvoyance -- impressions of future events. Again, a matter of stepping outside of time to read what is going to happen, because it may have already happened on another plane of perception ... or as the way events will unfold as the result of present potentials. Using Psychic Input to Get The Best Out of Your Daily Life Psychic ability exists as a rudimentary sense we all share, just as we share the ability to see, hear, taste, smell, and feel. And we can access this inner resource to empower our lives. Learning to do the techniques properly sets you on path to exciting new potentials. There isn’t a day goes by that I do not use PSI input to help me get the best out of my daily life. That is not to say I see everything coming. I don’t. But on many occasions, I do. This is usually the result of combining astrological awareness with psychic input. Astrology is more a science than a psychic technique, but I find most astrologers to be quite psychic. In November, I had a long session with my astrologer, Lee Holloway. (I also receive regular astrology input from Tara and astrologer friends Barbara May and Madeline Kasian.) Lee helps me to attain an overview of the coming year -- to explore the best timing for various projects and how to handle relationship considerations. And she tells me when I need to lay low. As an example, for me, mid-August through mid September is not a time to be working with the public or to launch new projects. So I factor seminar dates and appearance offers around such awareness, while also doing my own psychic readings. As another example, I had a new project/research idea that I penciled into my 2003 calendar -- a slot that was astrologically ideal for new explorations. But my own psychic readings on the project were negative. Then without telling Tara what I’d perceived, I asked her to check it out for me. She did three readings before saying, “You would not enjoy it and it would not be successful.” Having many psychic friends, we often give each other readings, which can then be synthesized with the astrological awareness. I believe in free will, while at the same time, the astrological cycles are what is. Much of what we encounter appears to be predestined. How we respond is not. And our responses are our karmic tests. On the night of the full moon, it’s common to have people gather at our house. A few months ago, Tara and some girl friends were lying on our back deck looking up at the moon. They all altered consciousness and opened to receiving messages for each other. Tara began to perceive very intense “success and notoriety” energy emitting from her friend Katherine Brooks. “Something is going to happen soon,” Tara said. “Your career and life path ... there’s going to be a big jump.” At the time Katherine was writing a script for her own movie and working as a camerawoman for MTV. Two months later she received two offers for her script, and MTV made her director of “The Osbournes” -- the most popular show on cable television. We’re all psychic and the way to become more psychic is to practice. Lying on the deck, looking up at a full moon, and being willing to say whatever comes into your mind is practicing, while also having fun. Bill and Brenda Ferril are friends from Western Montana who visited us after Christmas. Bill is a medical doctor with a holistic viewpoint. Three years ago I predicted he would write a book on this subject. At the time, he was a practicing doctor on the Flathead Indian Reservation and he laughed at the prediction. Bill’s book, “The Body Heals -- Without Toxic Drugs or Medical Procedures” was published a few months ago. (www.thebodyheals.com) Was there a big flash in my head announcing a book Bill would eventually write? Absolutely not. As I often say in the seminars, “There is no little red light that goes on in your mind to announce psychic input.” It all starts with a thought, trusting yourself, and being willing to verbalize your perceptions. But some thoughts do seem to carry a more intense vibration. I try to recognize and note such input. If we’re watching a tennis match on television, Tara invariably picks the winner by closing her eyes and perceiving whose name is bigger at the end of the match. It’s a fun way to practice stepping outside of time. And the more successful you are, the easier it will be to trust yourself next time. NOTE: If you can’t attend one of the psychic seminars Dick will be conducting in 2003, his 74-Minute CD courses are a good place to start. Each CD offers talks and altered-state sessions: “Psychic Development” (RB106), “Spirit Guides” (RB108), “Telecrux Power” (RB104) and “PK/Psychokinesis” (RB113) Each CD is $20. |
