A new Soaring Spirit Newsletter should be going to the mailers shortly after this is posted. It announces about 50 CD releases -- new titles and lots of archive titles available again on CD. My new Medicine Woman and Temple of Prophecy CDs will be announced. (The Healing Sphere, which I talked about in my last column, is being held back for spring release so we can do some additional production.) In the early 80s, Richard was personally involved in the conceptual or producing side of many of our New Age music titles. For the most part, these were the titles that have remained most popular over the years. Today, for the pure fun of it, he is personally working with musicians and getting involved in the music again. Feather In The Wind by Jerry Crocker, is the first music album we've released in years. It's a dreamy collection of Native American flute compositions that invoke haunting images. If you love inner-harmony music, give it a try. |

A few years ago we co-trained some seminars with friends Nigel Taylor (from Australia) and Patrick Smith (from Ireland). The latest news: Nigel and Jeannie Sprouls were married in December in New Jersey. Sadly, we could not attend the wedding, but we were there in spirit. These two are more fun to travel with than anyone we've ever met. Our adventures together in Ireland are described in an article at "Dick Sutphen Articles." Nigel and Jeannie are currently in India to see Sai Baba. Nigel has just finished a book that includes a lot of information about his relationship to the guru, whom some believe to be an avatar. |

I'm writing this edition of "Personal Notebook" by the fireplace on a cold Sunday afternoon in Lake Arrowhead. It looks like the rain may turn to snow and the children are hoping to be snowed in so we won't be able to return to the flatlands in the morning. While the rest of the world was watching the Super Bowl this afternoon, Richard and I toured houses to find the best possible location for the summer retreats we'll be conducting on the mountain. And we locked in a beautiful home with lots of room for group sessions. It's not on the lake, but it has more advantages than those we've usually rented by the water. One of our discussions this weekend was in regard to so many people we know living in what we call a "survival mode." By that, I don't mean literal survival, but living life in a frenzy with day-to-day circumstances taking on an out-of-proportion urgency. Maybe this is why, when I asked Abenda to come up with some parting words, she continued on the survival theme. "There is a will within many to destroy what they have, because with survival comes a sense of belonging to the earth and all that it means. Rather than focusing upon survival, it is time to live in your world. Open your mind, your eyes and your senses to what all life can be. It is your divine right. Accept your right and you will know the path of life. ABENDA 1/30/00 |
