I start such programs assuming the karmic roots of the problem may be found in a past life. Initially, I also direct my client to make contact with their Spirit Guide and deceased friends and loved ones via hypnotically-induced Spirit-Contact Therapy®. Those in spirit can supply us with valuable information about any situation. The following case history is from a woman in Toledo, OH, who relates her experience in her own words: “My first impressions were of a beautiful summer day; I saw myself as a fifteen or sixteen year-old girl wearing a blue dress with a white collar, and a white cap that fit close to the head. I had long, honey-colored hair worn straight and tucked up under the hat. My figure was narrow-wasted with ample bust and hips. “I had the feeling this girl was quite simple as I watched her walk through the pasture. In the barn I could even smell the cow I/she leaned up against as it turned and nuzzled me. As I turned and walked through the barnyard, mud splattered my wooden shoes. Suddenly, appearing in the doorway of the chicken coop was a man, a malevolent figure with white skin and glaring black eyes. I cringed and scurried past him to get into the house; his hatred for me was almost tangible. “Then vivid images of sexual abuse began to form. I saw how he raped and beat me horribly, saying, ‘You’re fat and ugly!’ The abuse was nonstop, night and day. He starved me, so whenever he wasn’t around, I ate frantically. I was always hungry and was afraid I would starve to death. At this point, a voice (Spirit Guide) told me this is the reason I cannot control my eating in this life whenever I feel stressed or threatened. “I eventually lost my mind from the continuous abuse. Death followed. The abuser in that life was my mother-in-law in my present life. We hated each other from the moment our eyes met twenty-eight years ago. She made my life as hellish as she could, but this time I won. When she died, I surprised myself by wishing her well. I don’t hate her anymore. Hopefully, I’ll never have to meet her again.” (End of quote.) Forgiveness is always part of releasing karma. Once we have a full understanding of the mind programming, I direct my client through what is often a tearful releasing process. Depending upon the kind of karma, sometimes forgiveness and knowing the cause is enough to alleviate the effect. In other cases, a weight-loss program will be needed, but there will no longer be a block that keeps the person from losing weight. I advise my clients that every time they feel the desire to eat the wrong foods, they say to themselves, “I know the cause and I release the effect. And in so doing, I set myself free.” If another person has been involved as in the case above, say, “I know the cause and I release the effect.
