Sharing Stuff

1. A LIFE OF SERVICE: Frank DeMarco, author of “Muddy Tracks,” sent a note I want to share. He was attending a conference in the Florida Keys. “There was a pen of dolphins there, and someone said it made them sad to see those animals in captivity. My sense, though, was this: Their being in captivity allowed many people to see them who otherwise never could have. Their life in a pen could be looked at as a life of service, for seeing them did affect people.”

3. CASE HISTORY: One of the most gratifying letters I have received in awhile is from Gayle, who lives in Las Vegas. I had been working with her regularly in person to alleviate back pain caused by an auto accident. Then when her arm became infected with a staff-like infection, she called me for help. The moment I heard her voice, I could tell she was in terrible pain. She was at her office, and I conducted a one-hour hypnosis session over the phone.

Gayle’s note of 9/21/07: “Thanks so much for the phone session yesterday. I left work feeling better than I had in days. When I got to bed last night, I noticed that the lump of infection went down a little. This morning I noticed that the lump is also not as hard as it was. It was very difficult yesterday, but thanks for sticking with me and getting me into the altered state.”

Gayle’s note of 9/24/07: “I just wanted to give you an update on the results from our phone session. The day after we spoke the lump started to get softer and smaller. The next day (and I know this sounds gross) it opened on its own and started to drain. I was able to squeeze a lot of crap out of it. The infection is now almost gone, and I can use your audio tape, so my arm and back feel so much better. It’s so nice to know that you are there for me if things get out of control.”

4. SET ME STRAIGHT: Thanks to all the people who wrote in response to my “Set Me Straight” column. It was the largest number of responses we have ever received to any column. In “Set Me Straight” I shared reader’s reactions to things I had said in previous columns. And your supportive messages overwhelmed my office staff on Monday morning (smile!). I’ll dig out some of the best and share them soon.

5. MY SPACE: My adventures with “My Space” continue. Thanks to all who visited and we’re now “Friends.” I am finding a sweetness to this concept that I had not expected. And some of you have sent me some most interesting “bulletins.”
