What’s The Universe
Trying To Tell Me?

A few days ago, Carol Morgan texted me:

"Hi there, Just got a new phone and I'm trying to get used to it :). The display on my other phone broke! And my computer at work broke. What's the Universe trying to tell me? Luv u!"

I texted back, "Universe is saying you are a person who breaks phones and computers. Luv u, R."

A moment later my phone beeped: "U suck!:)"

I laughed out loud.

Carol is one of my dearest friends. We're in daily e-mail and text communication. We sometimes write together, conduct seminars together, and she often plays sidekick on my weekly radio show.

"What is the Universe trying to tell me?" or "What is my soul calling me to do?" Basically the same question, phrased two different ways. When life flows easily, I assume I'm responding to my callings. But when I run into blocks or a negative pattern emerges, it's usually an indication that I'm not on the right path.

Human-potential trainer Jimmy Moore uses a metaphor of riding an elephant through your life. "Life is easier when you desire to go in the direction the elephant wants to go," says Jimmy.

The last few years, my elephant has wanted me to go deeper into hypnotherapy -- to return to private practice and to teach other therapists about the value of a spiritual approach to problem resolution. It would take many pages to fully explain, but suffice it to say, opportunities in hypnotherapy have almost magically opened up, my work has been recognized and repeatedly honored, and my new case histories will provide incredible book material.

Back to Carol Morgan Ph.D., who in addition to being a gender communications professor is also a talented hypnotist. When I tuned in psychically to find out what the Universe was trying to tell her, I heard a commanding voice saying, "Carol, I want you to go to the phone store and buy a new phone with a little keyboard so you can more easily entertain Richard and keep him on track." In regard to the broken computer, the voice said, "Carol, I want you to call a repair man."
