HBO In Lily Dale
Last week I was in Lily Dale, NY (the town where everyone talks to the dead), conducting a Professional Hypnotist Training. It was the first two tiers (60-hours in-class training and
40-hours of homework) of a 200-hour training. I was working with The School of Spiritually Based Hypnotherapy and Past-Life Regression, which is part of Fellowships of the Spirit.
It’s “season” in Lily
Dale and several hundred tourists are always wandering around the small community, attending services at the stump, or prayer and healing services, or seeing a medium for a reading. Friday night there was a sweat
lodge at the lake, several of my seminar attendees planned to attend, and I decided to join them.
HBO was there filming the event for a documentary on the mediums (those who channel the dead) and the town
itself which looks just like it did in the 1800s. Only Spiritualists can live here, and most of the homes are owned by those who do readings. The town is about 50 minutes below Buffalo, NY.
When I got to the
sweat lodge I was told that the HBO director was looking for me. Elaine Thomas of Fellowships had told them about me, and so had several other people. When the director and I connected, he asked if I would be
willing to work with them the next day. I said, ”Sure,” and gave him my cell-phone number.
The sweat lodge was an incredible experience. Twenty-seven of managed to squeeze into the low lodge made of
sticks and a blanket-like covering. We chanted, sung songs and prayed for almost two hours. I was sitting by Dena DeLuco, who said, “I’ve never sweated this much in my life. “ Afterward, she said she was
chanting in a totally unfamiliar language. For those who have never had this experience, you can’t imagine how hot it gets. When the leader pours water over the red-hot rocks and the steam rises, I’d go down and
breathe the earth for a few moments to remain in balance.
The next day while my students were past-life regressing each other, I met the HBO crew at Good Vibrations, an outside eatery in the park-like
setting. They were following a man named Ron Holt, a Chicago cop, whose son had been shot to death on a school bus by a gangbanger. They said, just talk to each other, and tell me what you do. That wasn’t a lot of
instruction. But that’s what we did.
“When I heard the details of his son’s death, I said, “I can put you in direct contact with your son, using hypnosis, if you’d like.” It’s didn’t seem to
register with Ron, but the HBO cameraman who right in our faces with his camera, said, “Can you really do that?”
I assured him I could.
In reality, I wasn’t so sure. Ron was totally Christian in
orientation, he had no knowledge of hypnosis, and we only had 45-minutes to do it. We used five minutes walking to my apartment, and another ten for me to explain what we were going to do, while HBO set up their
cameras.
I said a silent prayer and asked my angels to help. (Looking back, I think the whole thing was set up by spirit.) I hypnotized Ron and he went deep. I moved him into Higher-Self, called in his son,
Brian. The rest of the session went like a perfect dream. Brian was right there, and I had them directly communicating immediately. His son pushed down on his stomach and asked his dad, “Do you feel that?” Ron
assured him he did. Brian said, “That’s how much it hurt, Dad. I died instantly. There was no pain.”
I asked Brian questions. Ron asked him questions. When it was over, Ron opened his eyes and said,
“Brian was right here. I could feel him push on my stomach, and he verified so many things.”
The segment could end on the cutting room floor, but I think they’ll include it. Someone said, it will
be shown on HBO around January.
