The following article is an excerpt from Dick’s new “MEDITATION 74-Minute Course on CD.” The actual course includes considerably more information and a complete meditation session.
To understand the true nature of reality and the potential of meditation, I would like to being by exploring our multidimensionality and the interrelatedness of all things. We’re all familiar with the Physical Domain, this is our known world of three-dimensional physical reality and the five senses. It consists of material objects with firm boundaries, and it appears to move through time from the past to the present to the future. This level of existence is governed by cause and effect.
The next level of existence is called the Quantum Domain which opens the door to a larger reality. We have to begin with an exploration of the mind. According to brain/mind researchers, the mind is not a thing ... but is instead a process that runs parallel to physical processes in the brain. Or, maybe our mind is inside of us and outside of us at the same time. I’ll explain what I mean.
Joseph McMoneagle was once the top remote viewer for the CIA. For years, he and many others used altered-state mind-projection techniques to gather data for the United States Government. In his book, Mind Trek¸ McMoneagle says, “Some will argue that the mind resides in the brain because that is where some believe we store all the information we know. However, as a remote viewer, I will categorically state that is not necessarily true. I collect, analyze, and report information every day that I have never read, seen, or known prior to the experiment. It would seem that my mind is collecting it from somewhere else. “
McMonegale goes on to state that there is a somewhere else ... and our minds not only have access to it, but may in fact at least partially reside within it.
I realize not everyone knows about the CIA’s remote-viewing division, but it’s now general knowledge for those desiring to learn more on the Web or through the many books written about the experiments. Basically, remote viewing amounts to trained viewers gathering data of value to the intelligence community.
Okay ... back to brain and mind: Your brain is your hard wiring and through it you receive information regarding physical reality. But your brain alone cannot access your spiritual side, or non-physical reality. Your mind is required for this. So, you have two tools for collecting information, with the mind being the higher-functioning tool. Your brain runs the autonomic functions of your body, regulating everything that is not chemically self-regulating. But your brain can be overridden by your mind.
Bio-feedback and monitoring has established that your mind can control your blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and even healing rates. And in light of the remote viewing results and experiments I’ve run for years in my own seminars, your brain gets new data from within you while it is also attaining information from outside physical reality .... from somewhere else.
Research on Near-Death Experiences also supports the mind being inside of us and outside of us at the same time by transcending physical consciousness. In such situations the experience often takes place during a medical emergency or as the result of an accident. Someone may have suddenly died with all brain-wave activity ceasing. But when brought back to life, they report of witnessing the entire ordeal, while floating above their body. Often they can relate conversations between the doctors and nurses.
Okay, now before further exploring mind potentials of quantum domain, let’s look at what is known about the brain. I know you’ve heard of the left brain, right brain differences. Left brain is considered the logical dominant hemisphere. It’s concerned with the details of life—speech and organization.
The non-dominant right hemisphere focuses more upon an overview. This is the intuitive, creative side of your personality. It’s comfortable with paradox and does not require logical assumptions to follow a course of action. Those “hunches” you experience come from the right side of your brain .... and maybe this is somehow related to a connection to your mind, which is receiving information from somewhere else.
In his book, Brain States, Tom Kenyon, M.A. says, “Each time a nerve cell is stimulated, it transduces energy. The biochemical reactions at the tips of the dendrites fire off electrical activity in the rest of the cell. Neurons emit electromagnetic fields when they are stimulated. And if enough neurons fire off simultaneously, there is an electrical surge in the brain. This sudden burst of electrical energy can be detected and measured.
“The device to measure such brain activity is called an Electroencephalogram, or EEG. The resulting measurements are called brain waves.
“At any given moment of brain stimulation, there are hundreds, perhaps thousands, of different energy states occurring. Some of these are electrical as detected by EEG measurements. Others are biochemical or magnetic, and more likely includes states we don’t even know about yet. And every thought and feeling you experience has a corresponding brain state or electrical or biochemical profile.”
Quantum physics tells us that we are part of a Universe made up of vibration. The Universe came into being through vibration. Your body and mind and your surroundings are vibration, but we can’t see it or experience it for what it really is because we are part it. Nothing is solid. Everything breaks down to atomic particles which are spinning as such fanatic speed, they create the illusion of a solid reality.
If you look at the blades of a spinning fan, they appear to be a solid disc. And so it is with the rest of our reality, which is vibrating at a particular level. Solid objects are mostly space. Scientists claim that if the space in your body were eliminated, the matter that comprises your body could be fit on the tip of a pin.
This is why the leading-edge physicists now say that our reality appears to be more like a thought form than anything else. In other words, our core essence is emptiness. I see us as spiritual beings exploring a vibrational reality of our own creation. To use the analogy of a radio, maybe we’re all playing at a vibration of 98.6 on the dial. But if your turn the dial there is another reality at 102.3 and another at 105.8.
Vibration is the basis of our world, and when you explore in altered states of consciousness, you’re experimenting with vibration. You’re experimenting with energy, and energy is non-physical in nature. People of many religions and ideologies chant the soothing vibration of the OM, for the quieting and uplifting benefits that result. According to Peter Matthiessen in his book, The Snow Leopard, “The OM is all sound and silence throughout time, the roar of eternity and essence of pure beings. In invokes the ALL that is otherwise inexpressible.” According to some spiritual beliefs, it was the sound of OM that set the vibration of the Universe into being.
A French doctor named Alfred Tomatis was once called to at Benedictine Monastery near Paris. Most of the monks living in the monastery had become so severely depressed they even lost interest in eating. Upon investigating, the doctor found that the depression had set in shortly after a new Abbot had been instated and changed some of the old practices. In particular, he eliminated Gregorian chanting, because he felt it to be a medieval practice.
When the doctor had the Abbot reinstate the chanting, the monks’ immediately returned to normal. Why? / / / The chanting altered consciousness and the calming vibrational frequency ranges supported mental health and a sense of well being. Chanting again, the monk’s brains released the brain opiates that they were addicted to experiencing.
Vibration can calm you down or drive you crazy. It is the primordial essence of creation by which we create and re-invent our lives. Even our thoughts generate vibrational effects. Positive thoughts can inspire you and motivate you to be more than you are, while negative thoughts can depress you and generate dis-ease.
Dr. Andrija Puhriach is a highly respected researcher of ELF waves. These are extra-low frequency waves which can be beamed right through the earth to communicate with submarines. Many years ago, in an attempt to warn US officials about the Russian use of ELF waves, the doctor set up an experiment. His test subjects were wired to measure brain waves on an EEG machine. Then they were sealed in a tightly insulated metal room that no normal signal could get through. But ELF waves went right through the metal walls. Those inside the room had no way of knowing if a signal was or was not being sent.
Doctor Puhriach then began to beam various frequencies and watch the test subject’s reactions on an oscilloscope. He found that 30 percent of the test subject’s brains were taken over by the ELF signal in from six to ten seconds. This takeover was followed immediately by characteristic behavioral changes at precise frequencies. Very low frequencies generated an emotional upset and often disrupted body functions. High ELF waves elevated feelings as though the subjects were master meditators. Even higher waves could induce depressed agitation.
Again, we are talking about vibration and its effect upon the human system.
In a research study conducted in a New York City hospital, Doctor Sue Chapman played Brahms Lullaby several times a day for a group of premature babies. Other premature infants did not hear the music, but received identical diet and care. The results? The infants who were subjected to the music had fewer complications and gained weight faster than the others. On average they were released from the hospital a week earlier.
The brain-mind experts claim this result has a psychoacoustic explanation. The Reticular Activating System of the brain either sedates or alerts the neocortex in response to incoming sensory information. So, the calm, relaxing timbre of the lullabies increased alpha activity, reduced the levels of stress hormones, and decreased respiration and heart rate, thus allowing the babies to develop under less duress.
Listening to Brahms Lullaby would have the same psychoacoustic response in you today .... the same response as inducing an altered state of consciousness—a meditative state. With today’s synthesizer programs it is possible to generate alpha waves or theta waves. Listening to them would generate very much the same response within you as listening to the lullaby.
As the brain-mind researchers learn more about the relationship between brain and mind, we will see all kinds of new advances for treating both mental and physical dis-ease with psychoacoustical techniques.
All right, I talked about the Physical Domain and the Quantum Domain ... now let’s explore the Spiritual Domain, which is also called Non-Local Domain. According to Deepak Chopra, this level of reality consists of intelligence, or consciousness. He says, “This is where information and energy emerge from a sea of possibilities. The most fundamental, basic level of nature is not material; it is not even energy and information soup; it is pure potential. This level of nonlocal reality operates beyond the reach of space and time, which simply do not exist at this level. We call it non-local because it cannot be confined by a locatio-it is not ‘in’ you or ‘out there.’ It simply is.”
The spiritual/non-local domain is the level of your soul. It creates and orchestrates the activity of information and energy, and is everywhere at once.
Let’s look at the manifestation of synchronicity as an example of nonlocal domain at work. Awhile back, I called my friend Gloria Jewell, and she told me she was outside trimming a tree that was blocking sunshine on her roses. A few days later, while visiting the Malibu home of Don Lehman, he and I walked through his garden environment. At one point, he stopped, looked up at some trees and said, “I have to trim those trees so the sun can reach my roses.” That was synchronicity. My soul wanted me to do some metaphorical tree trimming so my life could flower. I quickly realized the meaning. At a soul level, spiritual/nonlocal domain had manifested a message I would hear loud and clear in the physical domain.
Often at the beginning of a friendship or romance, two people are surprised by all the synchronicities they experience. If you understand nonlocal domain, you realize it is the vibrational energy these two people are focusing upon the relationship that causes their souls to feed back synchronistic messages in the physical domain.
When a relationship is destined to be, the energy of the Spiritual/Non-local domain can pull people half way around the world to meet when the timing is just right. Or this energy can point you in a new career direction, or health-care direction, or upon a new spiritual search.
Our thoughts, feelings and emotions are feeding the vast potential of the Spiritual/Non-local domain. What we send out into this soul level of our existence will come back to us in the form of synchronicities and experiences. This is not a new message, it is simply another way of explaining why things work the way the do, and how we create our own reality. The power of focused intention and desire can manifest miracles.
In the next session you’re going to experience meditation aided with an electronic vibrational sound.. So let’s talk about how you can use this session. Your mind will quickly align with this psychoacoustic vibrations, and you’ll go into an altered state of consciousness. You may not even realize you’re in meditation. More about this in a moment. But first, let’s how to begin.
Classic meditation is practiced sitting upon a pillow or cushion. The idea is to make yourself as comfortable as possible in this position. Put your legs in what is called “full-lotus position” in yoga or Zen meditation. This means that you cross your legs so the soles of your bare feet tilt upwards. You’ll have to tuck your legs in deeply to manage this .... and straighten your spine. If your legs are crossed loosely it won’t work. Tuck them as far up on your thighs as possible. There may be a little initial pain until you adjust to the posture. Once correctly positioned, you’ll be balanced and secure.
NOTE: The introductory talk and instructions continue and the course includes a meditation.
Peace and Light,
